Bobby Simmons Net Worth $23 Million
Bobby attended Neal F. Simeon High School, where he played basketball for the high school team, and after matriculation enrolled DePaul University where he continued with basketball, and in three years averaged 13.6 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. He declared for the 2001 NBA Draft, and was selected by the Seattle SuperSonics as the 41st overall pick. However, his draft rights were traded to the Washington Wizards, who then sent him to the Detroit Pistons, alongside Richard Hamilton and Hubert Davis in exchange for Jerry Stackhouse, Brian Cardinal and Ratko Varda.
Unfortunately he didn’t even settle in Detroit as the franchise released him, and he signed with the Wizards again, and played for them until 2003. During his time at Washington, Bobby didn’t see much playing time and averaged only around 3.5 points and 1.7 rebounds per game. However, his net worth was set.
His next stop was Los Angeles and the Clippers. In the first season with his new team, he played in 56 games, eight of which were starts and he averaged 7.8 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. The following year was his best in his entire career, starting in 74 games of the 75 he played, and averaged 16.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.4 steals per game – this stellar performance earned him the Most Improved Player Award for the 2005 season. However, despite his good form, the Clippers didn’t extend the contract with the rising small forward, and instead he joined the Milwaukee Bucks as a free agent.
Unfortunately, his numbers declined, averaging around 13 points with 4.4 rebounds per game, and things became worse as he suffered an ankle injury which kept him sidelined for the entire 2006-2007 season, so then in 2008 he was traded to the New Jersey Nets for Richard Jefferson, alongside Chinese star Yi Jianlian.
His numbers continued to drop, and after two seasons with the Nets, Bobby signed a contract with the San Antonio Spurs, which only increased his net worth further. However, nothing changed for Bobby as he played only two games for the Spurs, and so for the 2011-2012 season he played in 28 games for the Clippers, on rolling 10-day contracts. He hasn’t retired from basketball, but has been without engagement ever since his second stint with the Los Angeles Clippers.
Apart from basketball, Bobby graduated from DepAUL University in 2014 with a degree in communications. He has launched a clothing line with Lavelle Sykes, called Succezz; also, he is the owner of a nightclub called Society, which has also improved his wealth.
Regarding his personal life, there is little information about Bobby’s most intimate details, including marital status, but he apparently has a son, Bakari born in 2000, and a daughter born in 2009.
