Pretty Ricky Wiki Biography
Pretty Ricky is an American hip hop and r’n’b band, which formed in 1997 in Miami, Florida, USA, as Pretty Rickie and the Maverix. The band has been active since that year, and during all that time has released three studio albums “Bluestars” (2005), “Late Night Special” (2007), and “Pretty Ricky” (2009). Some of their greatest singles are “Your Body”, “Grind With Me”, and “On The Hotline”.
So, have you ever wondered how rich Pretty Ricky is, as of early 2017? According to authoritative source, it has been estimated that the total size of the band’s net worth is over $2 million; the main source of this amount of money has been accumulated through success in the music industry.
Pretty Ricky Net Worth $2 Million
Pretty Ricky is four brothers – Ala Diamond “Baby Blue” Smith, Corey “Slick’em” Mathis, “Spectacular” Blue Smith, and Marcus “Pleasure P” Cooper – who decided to pursue a career in the music industry. They held several live performances before they were noticed by Jim Jonsin, a producer at Unusual Suspects production team; however, due to numerous internal problems, their recordings didn’t see the light of day until the mid- 2000s.
The band’s debut studio album came out in 2005, entitled “Bluestars”, and it was pretty successful, reaching No. 3 on the US Rap chart, No. 5 on the US R&B and No. 16 on the Billboard 200 chart, while it also achieved gold status, so adding a considerable amount to the band’s net worth.
Encouraged by the success of the album, Pretty Ricky and its members continued to make music; in just two years, they released their second album “Late Night Special”, which turned out to be quite an accomplishment for the group. The album topped the Billboard 200 chart, US R&B and also the US Rap chart, while selling more than 500,000 copies and achieving gold status, which increased Pretty Ricky’s net worth by a large margin.
Unfortunately, the group was once again struck by internal problems, and the lead vocalist Pleasure P left the group as a result. He was replaced by the singer named 4Play, but their problems didn’t disappeared. Namely, they started recording a new album, which would have been entitled “Eightes Babies”, but due to creative differences, the album was never released and 4Play already became one of the past members.
Nevertheless, he was soon replaced by a new vocalist; this time it was Lingeries, and he sang on the band’s third self-titled album released in 2009, but the success of it was nowhere near to the previous releases. In order to regain the old fame, they released an EP entitled “Topless” (2010), and a couple of singles, increasing further its net worth.
Unfortunately, this didn’t light the fire under their career, and as a result, they disbanded.
Nevertheless, they returned to the scene in their original line up in 2015, with the single “Puddles”, and are currently working on their next album, which according to reports, would be released in 2017.
